'BAILOUT' FOUND TO EKITI IS OUR RIGHT- FAYOSE. Governor Ayodele Fayose of Ekiti state , has stated categorically that the N2.1 billion accruable to the state from the N413.7 billion (2.1bn) from Nigeria Gas (NLNG),is not a bailout from the federal government as reports had stated. Fayose, who was speaking in Ado-Ekiti Tuesday, said the amount was part of the statutory earning due for Ekiti state as a federating unit in the country and not as a means of enabling the state pay outstanding salaries and debts. The Governor said for the #2.1billion that is to be given to Ekiti, I want to make sure that i do not leave any gap. Our wage bill is about N2.6 billion. I will find means to add to it topay June salary within the next week," Fayose sad, adding that his administration had not engaged in borrowing since it assumed office.
